River Oaks Golf Course at Lake Norman, previously named North Carolina National Golf Club, is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Statesville, North Carolina.
Wynne Residential purchased the 18-hole North Carolina National golf course in August, 2006. Golf course architect Ed Carton was retained to oversee a multi-million dollar renovation of the golf course. The golf course opened for play in late May 2007, renovated from tee to green.

It course offers an enjoyable, scenic golf adventure with plenty of golf risk and reward for all levels of play.

Greens are in horrible condition, many are almost completely gone. Behind in their mowing, maybe due to rain earlier in the week. Shouldn't charge full greens fee on a Saturday when you plug the greens on Monday.

I have played here numerous times, looks like the only rankings for this course are negative, but don't let that stop you from playing. The fairways were in really good shape for it being winter. They definitely had some green and softness to them. The greens were in really good shape too, with a few, small, bad spots, none of which were near the hole. To put into perspective, this course is in the best condition of the 3 other courses around the area that I have played in the last 2 months. The fairways are narrow but nothing crazy. I enjoy coming here very much even though it's a hard course for me to score on, but I'm an average golfer. Definitely check this place out if you haven't.
